Lingering on the Rim

Photo: Manish Doshi, Oceanside Labyrinth in Maui, Hawaii “Am I at the Center or am I at the Rim?”

Experiences on a continuum,
spirally back at deeper levels
alive, raw, intense
Much greater trust
each time around

We keep
doing this
continually,
push the edges
towards authenticity
while keeping the peace,
protecting our sensitivity,
our strength misunderstood.
It is often awful
yet so so stunning
how we keep going.

After digging deep
now sitting on the rim
of another level of depth,
enjoying the breeze,
holding the expanse above
in my awareness,
there is no turning back.
Right here right now
being on this planet,
breathing new life
into every sense of
Being, Knowing, and Perceiving.

Fear and I play peekaboo,
not wanting the encounter
when I venture to dig deeper
seeking a calm quiet inspiration
to be led,
through it all.
Enjoying the gifts
of where I am,
which may be over
this very moment
or may linger on
for a bit more.

Today I wish to give a special mention to 2 blogger friends “The Chatter Blog” & “Dreamwalker’s Sanctuary” They are a tremendous positive inspiration and influence on my trajectory of writing and being through life experiences, since the beginning of my blog journey. The above poem is a confluence of my responses to their posts. If you haven’t yet visited their work, please do.

  1. I love this picture with you smack dab in the middle of this labyrinth with your palpable, relatable words in poetry that are gifts to everyone who reads you Praghalabra.

The deeper we go, the more we expand and we always have a choice to go back or stand in our authenticity.
It isn’t always easy and we can always choose and re-choose which is what make life so beautiful.
I love your choice to stand in your truth and power amidst opposition!
Gorgeous lines in authenticity and beauty!
    Congratulations on standing your ground.

    • Dear Cindy, your appreciation of the picture makes me very happy πŸ™‚ It is my utmost joy when a picture from our personal photography walks in to my heart-mind to say it would fit with the words I am weaving together.
This journey into authenticity is exquisite indeed! I am humbled and honored to have your knowing witness to my expressions. Simply fuels my intention and journey to have your kind presence. Thank you ever so much! With Love – Pragalbha

  3. This journey is like walking through a maze much like the labyrinth you are stood in the middle of, so apt a picture for your post.

But without playing peekaboo with that fear, we would find ourselves rooted to the spot, unable to move.

But we are in fact spurred on to move, as our fight or flight responses kick in.
And our strength comes not in the power of our legs to run , but in the strength of our minds and hearts to stand strong and face our fears head on.
You dear Pragalhba, are strong, and all of our journeys, are only just beginning.
And without the gift of darkness, we would not rise to the light.

Each seed in order to grow is placed within the dark earth, it knows instinctively where to push up to the light, as it fights the gravity pulling it down. In our case its often our doubts and fears that restrict our growth.

We are those seeds within this moment of our Earth time Pragalbha setting down our roots as we grow so others may be nourished through our struggling to overcome as we expose the fear. So they can thrive in our future time lines.

We may all be lingering feeling unbalanced and uncertain of our future, but all each of us can do, is know we can only do our best within our now moment. And doing our best is enough.

So make the very most of each now moment my friend for all is perfect and divinely timed.

Many thanks also for your beautiful mention. 😍 βš˜πŸ’•
Much love to you my friend ❀.

    • Dearest Sue, you give me the deepest smiles of joy with your empowering support :)))
“our strength comes not in the power of our legs to run , but in the strength of our minds and hearts to stand strong and face our fears head on.” – I am absolutely thrilled in agreement with this profound quote you made here! It is facing those waves head-on that has continually kept us awake, alert, at times exhausted, yet continually renewed.
I love knowing and feeling this beautiful new beginning that it indeed is. I totally relate to being this seed in the womb of the Earth that is now finally having its final release onto the surface and above. I have always admired and received these reminders from you that all our struggles are in service to our planet and the nourishing experience of Oneness. I truly appreciate how you empower this feeling of lingering by making the most and best of these present moments, trusting the divine timing of it all. Oh, the groundedness you lend to my explorations is so fulfilling, leaving me ever so grateful always. Thank you very much for your most soulful heartful contributions my friend, Much Love.

      • I’m humbled by your words Pragalbha, we are both finding our inner strengths as we navigate, adjust, and follow the compass of our hearts.. No truer guidance will we find than listening to our hearts.

It’s important right now we listen to our hearts and not the outer chatter of confusion or fear mongering that will spark many to react..
Hold fast in the peace of inner knowing that all will be well. For all has to unfold as it should in the world..
This ride is about to get bumby. But we shall ride out the storm, because we’ve put in our groundwork..
Love and blessing dear friend ❀ πŸ’•

    • That oceanside labyrinth seemed a heavenly location to be at, with the sound of thunderous waves. It makes me very happy that the poem and the photo found each other. Thank you very much for your kind appreciation :))

  5. What a lovely photo! Your words really resonated. The edges of our layers and the delving into the koshas is a wonderful spiritual exploration. Fear is natural yet will dissipate more and more as we experience the incredible depth of our Being. Thank you for this PD πŸ’•πŸ™πŸ’•

  6. I don’t think you are at the rim Prag, you are right in the center, taking the challenges and grappling with them, pushing fears away. A rim could’ve toppled you over! We are constantly “pushing the edges” and why shouldn’t we… that is how we grow. Beautifully articulated sentiments.

    • You give me the kindest beautiful regard Balroop :)) I am perhaps at the center and the rim to yet another center within. Your words feel positively encouraging to me, yes that is exactly how we grow. The support from the likes of you is incredible, for how familiar you are with this journey. Thank you very much for your appreciation.

  7. Always so insightful are your words to me. This write reminds me of the continuous popping in and out of various levels of conscious awareness, and the deep well of Love that arises alongside the disorientation that does also occur. It’s such a Gift and amazing Unfolding, at times leaving me without concepts to fully contextualizes the visceral experience, yet I know it’s just as it should be, for when the language comes, if it comes, I know the words are supposed to be ushered into Being. A wonderful contemplation, which has added tremendous value and insight into my evening, Pragalbha. Thank you for that, my dear friend. πŸ™πŸ’™

    • ” leaving me without concepts to fully contextualizes the visceral experience,”

You gave words to that unwordable so beautifully Jeff πŸ™‚ It makes the process of poetry so enjoyable, as we attempt to give words to all that is only felt without the thinking mind. Your reflection adds to its richness. Thank you very much, always!

    • Yet again – Silence feels richer than any words I can offer to you my kind friend, with deep regards of gratitude for how you see my journey through profound magical light, the light that is your divine way of being and seeing. Very kind of you for the glimpse and energy you offer, that I fully and humbly receive – a willingness to be the ligtness and brightness I can be. Thank you for seeing the magic beyond my own perception of it and reflecting it back to me, it fuels exactly the trajectory I would wish for. Thank you truly.

  11. Hi Pragalbha, Really such a heartwarming poem and so true. Love the photo perfect setting for your poem that can apply to all our lives

This is the verse that really resonates with me
    We keep
    doing this
    continually,
    push the edges
    towards authenticity
    while keeping the peace,
    protecting our sensitivity,
    our strength misunderstood.
    It is often awful
    yet so so stunning
    how we keep going.

    and in particular, i love
    “continually,
    push the edges
    towards authenticity
    while keeping the peace,
    protecting our sensitivity,
    our strength misunderstood.”

Especially ” our strength misunderstood”, because it take so much energy to be strong to do the small things in our own person life. We mind our own business and get on with life. Minding our own business, and making no mark on another life, but ” our strength that take so much to muster, is misunderstood and used against us”.

Beautiful poem. Thank you for sharing.

  13. I’ve missed you my friend! You ask β€œAm I at the center or at the rim?” This is your central question which is so perfect I love it as a koan to also recognize and ask what the center is? Who is this I? (Who would ask?)

I’ve known Sue at Dreamwalker since I started blogging, maybe in 2013-2014 (but I think I had started I’m 2011. She’s been incredibly inspiring and bringing strength in.

I don’t know the other yet, I’m not sure. I will have to go back and look.

I hope you are continuing to dazzle, and are dazzled by, all that you are experiencing in your present experiences. I know you are, for I know the depth you live and travel. Some of my favorite blog memories are when you are waking and your reflections on waking, working through boundaries and living your own truth, courageously.

I love this image of the labyrinth. Such a fitting place to pause. I did not see this particular labyrinth when I was last in Maui. I feel like we are due to see Hawaii again! πŸ’—.

    Sending you all love. πŸ’šKa

    • Dearest Ka – holding you in my smile right now in silence :)))) It took a while to get here to respond to you – I received this message from you on the exact day I had felt the stirrings in my heart to return to WP and I was thrilled in gratitude to have you, my friend, reaching out to me from this space. I am inching my way back here – also eager to bring some updates as life did continue to dazzle me with the miracle it is – ever so tenderly and graciously. I am thinking of you and your beautiful family fondly.

I love how you bring the perspective of a Koan to my question. I now enjoy thinking of it that way. I feel utmost gratitude for your kind loving acknowledgment and seeing of my journey – ever so blessed with this divine connection we found here, am short of words with the fullness I receive from your visit here. I want to get back here, pray soon, also to visit your space. Much Love & Gratitude until then.

    • Dear Wise Friend Kate πŸ™πŸΌ it touches me deeply that you ask – I am ok … the WP space keeps tugging at my heart to return. I keep imagining my return and reconnecting here – and Life keeps taking me on this flow of Being, needing a lot of space to keep flowing in the continual Not Knowing. Some marvelous turns have happened to me and I have found it ridiculous that I wouldn’t write anymore …I have simply surrendered.

Now I feel like I am blabbering – because I might be able to convey a lot more to you through Silence than in words for you are the discerning one. Thank you truly for calling me back Home – I await my own return soon enough …God willing, I ask to be shown the way…
Much Love & Gratitude my dearest friend, trusting the amazing & auspicious unfolding for you πŸ’«
