Livable Poetry

Dreams and Fantasy for the Future
from the Waking Moments
Are sometimes like Pure Poetry
made Livable.

I remember my thoughts while watching this particular sunset. I was sending a wish out in the ocean – perhaps I will get to a place in life when/where I wouldn’t miss a single sunset over the ocean any day, every day. I had a heart full of gratitude for this sunset view, and it is perfectly ok if I don’t return for another one for however long. But just perhaps I would be at a place with this view every single day. How many sunsets do I have in store anyway?

On another note:

I started blogging in 2015 when I suddenly found myself in the midst of surge after surge of poetry pouring out of me. By 2018 that surge got replaced by short snippets of inspiration that I was moved to pair with personal photographs and create images out of them. Have you visited my Inspiration Gallery?
(These were posted individually over the years and are linked from this gallery to the story or poetry.)

My heart feels full to the brim with joy and gratitude to have this collection together and updated constantly, it is my humble contribution to art for the world – if it can be called so. I admit to the amateurish nature of my pieces. Because they are exactly that. My amateur attempts with joy.

It always gives me utmost joy to hear what you think of this latest one above ‘Livable Poetry’. Here’s the link to Inspiration Gallery again, if you would want to visit and browse through.

  3. This beautiful poem and post resonates in my heart. The ocean is my favorite place on the planet, regardless of geography. When I am at the ocean, I love to walk along the shore, and just listen – to the birds, the waves, the breeze. The experience is so visceral, the Love available so all-consuming. It reminds me of the power of presence, and for me, the constant vigilance in knowing that we carry the ocean within us, wherever we are, always. This is deeply comforting to me. I always love your poem/photo artwork. The joy that comes thought these pieces is always present. Thank you for sharing this joy and Love with us, Pragalbha. 🤍🙏

    • Your description of your experience of the ocean is so resonant and joyful to me :)) Being there just affirms everything that is Life to me, just exactly like you describe. I love reading your words on this – like 2 little kids enjoying the same game or toy, except we here enjoy and appreciate the big game of Love and Life in such similar ways. Reading it again and deeply appreciating each line of yours – Thank you Jeff, Thank you.

      • I’m so glad this is so, it is exactly how it felt to read your poem and post about the ocean. This is wonderful, “like 2 little kids enjoying the same game or toy, except we here enjoy and appreciate the big game of Love and Life in such similar ways.” That is such a wonderful way to describe this resonance and shared understanding. The knowing about the big game of Life and Love sits deep in my heart, and is continuously mirrored back by you, which gives me great joy and the deepest of gratitude for our connection. It’s an honor and pleasure. Thank you, Pragalbha.

  7. “Pure poetry made livable”. Aren’t dreams and fantasy for our future the beginning of goals and action? Fulfilling them making them exactly that, livable. And poetry lives in the entire process, the dream/fantasy, the action, the fulfillment. Beautiful Infinite.

  9. I am fascinated by your gallery and am loving exploring the little connections between image and word; each line offers a perspective not originally apparent in the photo. Thank you for sharing the beginning of your poetic journey and how you did not ignore the lines, small as they may be, when the words called out to you!

  13. It’s such a profound post- ‘how many sunsets do I have anyway?’ I think of it as well- a fleeting thought that I shun for fear of feeling low. I like your idea of writing your thoughts on your photograph- it’s a wonderful reminder of the moment.
