Pixie Dust & All Things Magical – A New Anthology

I am very thrilled to share that 2 of my poems
The Silent Warrior & The Beauty of Disruption are published in the new anthology edited by Anita Nahal – “Pixie Dust & All Things Magical: Global Poetry in English 2022”

I wrote “The Silent Warrior” in 2016, I have linked it above, I didn’t have as many blog friends visiting me back then 🙂 I wrote “The Beauty of Disruption” in 2017 and published it here in 2018. The conversations generated on it were deeply enriching and gratifying for me. I am choosing to share that poem again in this post, as a powerful reminder to myself too, knowing well it might be a repeat for some kind friends who were with me back then and have already read it. Perhaps you will enjoy the repeat.

Beauty of Disruption

When a surging flow of life seems to be disrupted,
Because of an un-event that was unexpected,
There is a space that is opened up for a rich listening in …
To every message that has been missed out on.

When you become willing to pause in that space
Deeply nourish yourself with simply being,
Precious awareness of fulfilled desires starts unfolding.
They may not feel the grandest dreams come true …
If you look closely you will find
Simple moments that were a dream for longest time.

Enjoy them, relish them …
If you go in distress over the disrupt
You shut yourself off from your own magical moments coming true.
If you look closely you will find
The very thing that disrupted your current momentum
Has made space for something that you had earnestly yearned.

Receive it fully …
Along with the faith that your current dream
Is now on its way to you.
If you look closely you will find
The surge of momentum had actually affected your ability
To receive some divine guidance with subtlety.

The surge worked to steer you strongly,
The disruption worked to create space
To help you settle in that direction,
You now move ahead with your trust, faith and intentions
Towards your dreams, desires and compulsions
With the subtle guidance of your own knowing.

In the space created with the disruption there is richness
of all that you have ever asked for.
Receive, relish, nourish, and become ready
For fresh beginnings in calmer tides of life.

  1. A reflective poem of life as it’s delivered if we stay open to what is and trust what’s coming without attachment to outcome you brilliantly penned Pragalbha!

    Love it and your words

“ The surge worked to steer you strongly,
The disruption worked to create space
To help you settle in that direction,
You now move ahead with your trust, faith and intentions”

    • Your kind, knowing and thoughtful acknowledgement is very valuable to me Cindy. I wrote this poem when I fell sick and a project I was excited about fell through. I realized that I actually appreciated the time and space suddenly available for me, the dreams that I am already living. I am so thrilled to see those lines that you picked, feels very special to me!! Thank you very much for shining your light in this space 🙂

  2. How beautiful, transcendental, and transformative this poem is, Pragalbha. It speaks to me of the opening of oneself to all messages delivered through divine guidance, and the remembrance that, in fact, all that we receive is filled with Love and Divinity. From the smallest occurrence to the larger. For me today, it’s actually in the more subtle messages where I receive the most powerful messages. Paradoxically just so. I love this poem, and the space it creates for the reader to envelop themselves in your wise and profound words, evoking a reflection that carry’s us inward, always inward. Beautiful!! 🙏💛

    • Truly appreciate yoour kind generous apprecaition of this poem Jeff. This poem did come to me as a transformative experience in itself. I remember being in very ill suddenly and a project that I was very excited about fell through. Yet there was a calm within, and I heard this perspective pouring in, in the form of this poem. It is as if possibilities come to only give us a certain energy and then go away because that energy is all we need. The direct is set towards true possibilities unimagined. Yes all we receive is filled with Love and Divinity. I am so grateful that this poem carries you inward, a fulfilling gift for me. Thank you ever so much for walking this truly deeply with me.

      • It is always my pleasure to read and resonate with your words, Pragalbha. “It is as if possibilities come to only give us a certain energy and then go away because that energy is all we need.” This is exactly so. What I get in this statement is that it is true for all energies, the ones that deliver pain and the ones that deliver joy. Same. Given at just the right time, for just the right reason. This is very insightful for me, thank you, my dear friend.

  4. This poem is quite thought-provoking Prag. The space that those disruptions create reminds us that life’s challenges could be so strange, that life still flows, that space is an essential element … it depends on how we handle it; fill it with positivity or let it become an abyss of neglect.
Congratulations! Welcome to the published world. Hope you publish your own poetry book one day.

    • “fill it with positivity or let it become an abyss of neglect.” – yes this is so perfect, we have the power of choice in perspectives at every single place we find ourselves landed in. It is empowering and supporting to have your words of wisdom. Thank you very much for your kind wishes for me, I receive them fully.

  5. Wonderful reflective wisdom here Pragalbha … finding the space within the disappointment allows us to open to even greater things! Things happen for a reason but we don’t see that until much later. But if we rest and listen to the moment we learn much.

Congrats on the publications, you are blossoming 🙂

  8. Bravo to you, Pragalbha, for continuing to share your poems in new spaces. Poems are meant to be read again, and with each reading, especially when years have passed, we learn something new because we have changed. ✨ I like your motif of “space” in this poem and how it can be a rich gift.
