I can Be This & You can Be That

If I can be this and here
Whatever and wherever you see me
You too can be that and there
Whatever and wherever you want to be

Just ask those who had met me
Before I simply started living and being me
You will know how small and low I lived
Before I let go of the fear of not fitting in

They will tell you how hard it is to believe
Who is this and what really happened
To the one who did not have a clue
To the one, either too dumb or too loud

I only wish to keep being this and here
Centered in this labyrinthine life of desire
Immersed in what feels like flawless space
Living as the energy that happens to have a face

Evidence that you can be this and that and there
Whatever and wherever you want to be …

  1. a wonderful poem of freedom.
Everyone can define himself or herself and be what they want to be. If I have to be small and live low, depressed and disappointed it is certainly easier to provide this proof. Because for this proof you have to let go lots of things first.
But that’s the way it is with dreams. They involve letting go things that are not in the dream.

      • ohh, the proof of misery? Now I do not know if we got it right. What I meant was that everyone can define himself/herself and become what he/she wants. The need to redefine and align one’s life naturally is more given when one is swimming and lacking the foothold and meaning in life. Healthy people do not value health as much as sick people. Young people do not appreciate the youth o much like old people. It takes a lot of reflection to feel the desire and to take the step to a freely chosen existence.

  2. There is calmness and insight in this beautiful piece. For me it is complete and signifies a destination reached.
“Living as the energy that happens to have a face” …a line so poignant and wonderfully conceived! You are something madam🌹🌹😊

  3. When we make our Minds up and follow through within the labyrinth of Life, we discover who we are. Our Energy is so profound none of us truly knows the extent of it, thus what we live and how we live, does effect the whole in some way. Living by example, leaving the preaching behind, is the best approach of showing those within our space what Love in action is. BEAUTIFULLY penned, Pragalbha!! Brava! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    • Your comments and thoughtful reflections are so very precious to me! This poem came through me and I didn’t remember for long that I had my own picture at the center of the labyrinth to go with it. The picture then as if reflected to me the whole process of life as we walk our words and reach the center while intersecting with others. You are so right our energy is so profound, it is mindblowing! Thank you ever so much my beautiful friend!!

  4. This was written well, thought-provoking and meaningful. We are all part of the same labyrinth, at different places and in unique spaces. We need to accept our lives, while striving to improve ourselves. Caring who shares our space and time are important ways to make a difference, Pragalbha.

    • Hmm, we can be whatever we want to be? O.k. We can try to be, wish it dream to be but really be what we want … this is not only our choice. I can not be the president of the United States and I also can not be the partner of someone who does not love me, I can not be a mother when I am not able to get children … in fact we are always limitedby our body, our mind and because of others…

        • I did not understand this: “evaluate what choices are we making that are not true to us”….you mean we have to look what choices we made, which were not right and correct them in the present?

          • Hi Anie, yes I believe everything we live is a result of choices we make. Even if we cannot correct or change something immediately, we become aware of our reasons. We can slowly start to reshape our life with fresh choices, while accepting the present. This way we become aware if we are making new choices that are true to our own well being. Please let me know if I answered you 🙂 Thank you for asking.

            • Thank you Pragalbha, I think you answered my question perfectly. But of course, this answer can not be a panacea, because the decisions are finally to make yourself and that’s the really hard part in life, not to know the fact that you have to make corrective decisions.
Accepting the present and living as happily as possible is certainly a good thing, especially as the view of life is likely to become a little clearer. Making decisions means initiating things that will change tomorrow, and so you think hard and want to know if a path is worth it or if you end up in a dead end with his ideas….so you will ever go on thinking, beside the feelings you want to follow.

  5. Pragalbha, I am so touched! What an amazing contribution for #ForgivingFridays. This poem is transformational, and a beautiful dance of accepting and honoring the true beauty of our own face. I love this, and I love you! Will share it for this Friday’s blog.

Also, as a heads up on this next blog, I’m going to ask folks to submit their questions on forgiveness for my upcoming posts. That I’d start a Q&A like “Dear Abby….” yet it can be “Ask Debbie…” or something like that. ❤ If you have inspirations, or a question you'd like to ask, please let me know.

Thank you again for your beautiful poem. Blessings and love, Pragalbha — Debbie

  6. Beautiful, Pragalbha. Can so relate to this one. Moving from an existence of ‘not fitting in’ and ‘zero confidence’ to being able to let go and life your life trusting yourself and being yourself. It takes time but better late than never.
