December 2016 on the sand dunes of Death Valley
Felt like a precious dream unimagined
December 2017 on the pristine beach of Kauai
Felt like a worthy gift always dreamed
Looking back 2016 had felt like a poetry
It’s rhythm evident towards the end
Miraculous intensities as if waves undulatory
Looking back 2017 feels like chunks of prose
Blocks of emotions riotous, faced to fend
Unbeknownst intensities dealt to come to close
I had felt gratitude in advance for 2017
I am just simply curious about 2018
Too many dreams at the beginning of 2017
Now I see tremendous success in simply Being
The freedom and liberation is sweet
Without the need to justify with achieving
A lot of life is hidden in the slow living
Follow into the next choice after deep listening
All the voices in my head that created turmoil
Most many of them were not mine
When I decided to do nothing
Exact things happened that meant something
Universe is becoming my family
Soul interactions touching me deeply
And there’s us souls committed to each other
Deemed as Family for this lifetime
We hold hands together in joy and trust
To make it through with our individual soul calling
Each of you dear one who reads
I wish you too a curious & glorious 2018
May you find a ground steady as you tread
The waves of life with each twist and turn
May we all embrace the beauty with mirth
Of this finite vacation on planet Earth
P.S. It was such unplanned happiness to me to have a shadow click of my family this year just like the end of last year 🙂 Check the one from last year here, along with the poetry of that time.
Happy new year dear, love and wishes 🙂 xx

What a beautiful post, Pragalbha! Love how you chronicle the past years as poetry and chinks of prose. The universe becoming your family was another bit which has taken up residence inside my heart.
Wishing you a “glorious and curious” 2018. 🙂

Thank you so much Nandita for reading so deeply into my poetry and sharing with me the essence and what spoke to you. Isn’t it magical when we connect with people who seem straight from the Universal family? 🙂

It is interesting how each new year takes on a personality of its own. You’ve documented this beautifully.
The end of this year was interesting for me. I felt nothing but an awareness of conscious upgrades throughout this last month. Like you, I wonder where this will bring us in the new year.

I love the word ‘personality’ for each of the year 🙂 And true the end of year has been very interesting to me too …to me it was a lot of contrasts yet a sense of peace underlying.
Thank you so much for taking the time for this comment, I was very happy! 🙂
I am sorry I have been slow in getting to responses.

I love the nostalgic and peaceful tone of this piece, Pragal. I found myself nodding in agreement here:
“Too many dreams at the beginning of 2017
Now I see tremendous success in simply Being
The freedom and liberation is sweet
Without the need to justify with achieving”
Wishing you a wonderful new year!

These lines are the best for me in this very beautiful poem, Pragalbha. What a beautiful picture and an even beautiful poem. Here is wishing you a glorious New Year filled with positivity, more reason to smile, more family time and a lot of beautiful poems (like this one) for us.
I must confess that I try to get to your space during the morning hours as your words are like a dose of yoga to my mind as is Surya Namaskar to my body.

I really love that you’re content with the joys of simply being, not forcing, not expecting. Being curious, not feverishly pushing, gently extending, opening, choosing, and thanking. This particular post certainly embraces what is, what was, and what the power of the mind can bring into a more tranquil existence.
Then to top it all off, with heartfelt prose, you invite your readers to partake at the same banquet table. Very refreshing!
And yes, the just so happened to be the time and place for it…the joy & love that comes with in the moment supportive family hand-holding.****
