Gifts of Life

Beware what you ask
For it surely comes

Make sure you Ask
For it surely comes

Sometimes gift-wrapped
In porcupine skin
Pricks & pierces as you get it unwrapped
Until your heart bleeds in pain as if tapped

Unwrap with gloves of gratitude
And blessings counted profuse
The asked gifts get revealed
Deep wounds get healed

Be aware of all you ask
For it surely comes

Be Alert
For it surely comes
In ways you haven’t considered

  1. a piece of poetry with miracles. So skeptical, so warning, as if you could not believe yourself what kind of great feelings exist. Thanks for this honest incredible lines.

    • Thank you so much my friend. As much as we manifest through choice of thoughts, our gifts sometimes just come from situations that seem unpleasant or painful …only because we need to shed so much we hold on to, to open up to the new gifts …that shedding is what is painful …that’s the gift wrap that we didn’t choose. I really appreciate you sharing your view, it is our thoughts indeed that we need to be aware of.

  3. I interpret this to mean that what we want, is not always actually true. Everything can have consequences or look different in reality and ultimately – be careful what you wish for. In addition, not everything is as good as it seems. Again, I love the storytelling in this. Your writing never ceases to amaze me. 🙂

  4. I was just thinking about this today. Many things I have said that I wanted and in a way or another they happened. From now on I have become more carefully with my wishes. Thank you for sharing this! 😀

  6. I’m so glad you gave me the link for this poem! Truly it expresses the heart of the whole picture when we ask for something! When we ask and we receive something different, and it doesn’t feel good, in the Universe’s wisdom we are given what we need!

When we choose to be grateful and use the gloves of care you speak of, we can see the positives in the gift!

When I look back on my life, there were long stretches where it wasn’t what I would have ever chosen, yet the lessons learned were far deeper than if I had been given only the positives I had asked for!

There’s always what feels like positives and negatives, yet when we look back and see what has come out of the negatives, haw can we say it was negative when it helped us develop in ways we never would have dreamed of!

I adore your poetry! You capture the essence and we’d it so beautifully!

    Blessings! Tamara

    • Oh yes this is a good thought and comfort! We have to go down, deep inside the dirt to rise higher? Of course we have to give things up things to get other things. What we want to give up depends on what we can get and want to get.
Certainly you only give things up until you see, that you can get other things. And of course our wishes are not served on a silver platter. Life and the most wonderful things are always a complete package. But this package we will learn to love, because we have chosen it.
But so, if I get what I asked for. I do wonder, what I’ve really asked for, when I feel I’m not getting what I want? When dreams remain unfulfilled and one feels a great imbalance between what one gives and what one desires. When the pain weighs so much more than the joy. So your theory is, that I needed a lesson? Well I surely will appriciate all lesseons in life on day and hopefully I can also forgive people who hurted me for this reason. So, should one then reconsider his wishes? I think we have no influence on our dreams and we also do not give up our dreams either. But time heals wounds and dreams change. And that’s good, because otherwise there would be only astronauts, firefighters, princesses and fashion models in the world.

      • I see the truth inside of Tamara’s words and the wisdom aswell. Between seeing, understanding and living are big steps of learning though… I hope that I will learn to accept and welcome new ways without anxiety and with much more self-confidence…
